Different felting methods are used in the felting of the bag, such as: massage technique, rolling technique, Nuno felting, barrier felting and pattern decoration with a needle technique. By placing the felt around the pattern cut from plastic, it is possible to make durable and seamless objects without sewing.
Felting supplies:
table cover, cellular plastic 60x60cm, scissors, pen, paper, soap, plastic bag / mesh, towel, measuring tape, water bottle, foam, tube, felting needles, superlone piece.
Materials:
carded wool 130-170g, decorative fibers (curls) 30g, thin cotton fabric 12x15cm, wool yarn 1m.
Drawing a formula
The shrinkage percentage in thick felts is usually about 30%. The size of the formula is affected by the size of the product, the desired softness / tightness, the amount of felt layer (more layers - less shrinkage). If necessary, a sample patch can be made. The thickness of the model, as well as wool, should be similar to the actual work. The formula is drawn according to plan. The required amount of wool is weighed.
